In a way, the tub is the bathroom equivalent of the bed, being the largest fixture in the room and most often a must-have. That being said, turning the tub into a focal point seems like a wonderful idea, especially in the case of a luxury bathroom where you have options such as the Koi bathtub. It has an aged brushed brass base and a beautiful patina. The exterior is decorated with scales reminiscent of the Japanese Koi carp. Looking at some of these products you're probably imagining that the remodel cost of a luxury bathroom would be very high. While that can definitely be true in some cases, it’s not necessarily a general rule. It’s possible to keep the cost low by focusing on some of the small pieces, the accessories such as the wall mirror or the sconces. Here, for example, you can see the Bronx mirror displayed above a Diamond vanity, complemented by two Burj wall lamps. Perhaps you could find your own winning combo.
Of course, new bathroom designs are not limited to shallow square basins. For those who want a dramatic piece, large artful sinks made from all sorts of luxury materials are available. This conical, extra tall basin is from Stone Forest is matched by a tall, modern faucet from Franz Viegener. The single-handled faucet is the best choice for a tall basin like this one, where users might otherwise have to fumble around to reach the knobs. The drama of a tall faucet also enhances the vertical styling of the basin. A rich copper basin is a warm choice and it can be paired with either a traditional faucet mounted on the vanity or with more streamlined fixtures mounted on the wall. Here, the faucet options are from the Inciso Collection by Gessi. The choice of wall versus vanity mounting is driven by not only by visual preference but also by considerations of space and function. In a powder room, wall-mounted fixtures can save precious inches when space is at a premium.
These rustic-industrial bathroom shelves featured on cherishedbliss are quite charming too and so is that sign. Isn‘‘t it amazing how much something as small and as simple as a sign can change the decor and the ambiance of a room? The shelves themselves don‘t lack character either, especially with that worn look and the industrial details. Not totally committed to the idea of attaching shelves directly onto the bathroom walls? That‘‘s understandable in some cases. But what about the ceiling? Maybe you could use that surface somehow. The swing shelf featured on deeplysouthernhome shows you how such a strategy can work out. This is basically a swing used as a shelf. It‘s fun, unusual and pretty all at the same time. Looking for a way to organize and group up the items on your bathroom counter? Use mason jars. They're great for that and you can paint them to make them look pretty or so they can match the accent color you've chosen for your bathroom.
