Sometimes a neutral bathroom color can turn out to be the best choice, depending on the style and the materials you`ve chosen. A beautiful shade of gray will not look boring or austere as long as you manage to make the bathroom look welcoming and stylish in other ways. A few wooden accents and a soft, fluffy bath mat should do the trick. Another option is to give the bathroom a tropical look by using certain colors mixed with various different patterns. A nice combination can be between turquoise and green displayed on a crisp white backdrop. If bathroom tiles are involved, there are a lot of different options to consider in this case as well. A particularly interesting idea is to use tiles that have a less than common design, like these ones. You can create a scalloped tile pattern that doesn't really need color to stand out.
Floating shelves are, as we already mentioned on numerous occasions, extremely practical not just in bathrooms but also in pretty much any room of the house. You can see here a series of glass shelves complemented by a matching side table and an entire wall unit with open storage and display modules. It’s one of the designs proposed by Laufen. The bathroom shower plays its own role in giving this space a totally unique and interesting look. The Horizontal Shower is perhaps the most unconventional one of all. As the name suggests, you have to lie down horizontally when using it as opposed to standing up like you’d expect in most cases. A wall-hung toilet can offer many advantages such as easy cleaning and maintenance, a more open and spacious look and even a more refined and sophisticated appearance. In the case of luxury bathrooms like this one from Ceramica Flaminia this detail also helps to put an emphasis on the beauty of the marble floor.
Modern industrial decor has been popular for some time, however, it is just taking on new life among bathroom trends. This Diesel Open Workshop bathroom design, also from Scavolini, is a wonderful example of how to incorporate this style of decor in a bathroom. The warm, dark hues complement the large Lunar mirror that is set atop a copper-finish glass wall panel. Architectural pipe-style fixtures accent the space nicely. In what is actually a blast from the past, one of the new bathroom trends is hanging chairs. Originally popular in the 1960’s, these egg-shaped seats can hang from the ceiling, or from a stand as in this bathroom. Their resurgence is likely due to their organic feel, and cozy, nest-like seat. The feeling of being nestled is perfect for a bathroom retreat.
