What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register on our site or use the Boounce add-on to perform a search. When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name or e-mail address. You may, however, visit our site or use the Boounce add-on anonymously.
Boounce logs searches you make using the toolbar or if you click on an alternative site suggested in your Google and Bing results. Specifically, we have a log of your search term, the target search engine, the time, and your IP. This is because, when you boounce you transparently go through our servers to be redirected to the final destination search engine. This allows us to direct you to the most current search URL without having to continually update the site data on your hard drive. By default, your IP is deleted from our server logs after 30 days. The non-personally identifiable information (search term and target search engine) are used in aggregate to help suggest alternative sites to search to other users in the future.
When you add or move sites around on the browser add-on, we anonymously log the changes so that we can help determine the organic order and placement of sites and groups for all users.
